2012 International Photographic Competition
supported by BergHind Joseph
Open for entries

'Celebrating leadership in the modern world'

What is leadership? Why is leadership important? How do you demonstrate leadership? What makes a great leader? When is leadership needed?

The 2nd International Photographic Competition sponsored by BergHind Joseph is looking for your vision!

The second International Photographic Competition supported by BergHind Joseph is now open for entries. This is the second year the competition has run, and has been launched on the back of a torrent of high quality entries last year which were judged by a prestigious judging panel including Margaret Clarke, Picture Editor of The Times2.

The title for the 2012 international photographic competition is 'leadership in the modern world'; a theme that's been chosen to encourage creative and innovative thinking around how you perceive leadership and where it exists today.

The concept of leadership means different things to different people. So, we would like your entry to stimulate conversation and debate about the meaning of leadership and how it has an impact on our daily lives and others. Leadership can be a combination of ideas and values that can ultimately engage and inspire people, motivate individuals and teams and enable ambitions to be achieved. What's more it exists in all aspects of life: in business, in politics, at home, within our close-knit groups, in sports and within the school playground. We would like you to use your creative thinking to illustrate how leadership can make a difference, influence others and inspire change.

This year the competition will again be asking for images on the theme of leadership, but with a specific twist to reflect the world we live in. The three categories are:

  • leadership in a time of change and uncertainty
  • leadership through inspiration
  • leadership and success

BergHind Joseph's joint Director of Design Excellence, Smith Joseph, says, "We were overwhelmed by the response to our first competition last year – perhaps in this time of uncertainty, the idea of leadership has much greater appeal than ever before. This year, we're looking for entries which stimulate conversation and debate about the meaning of leadership and how it has an impact on our daily lives. We're hoping that entrants will use their creative thinking to illustrate how leadership can make a difference, influence others and inspire change in business, in politics, at home, within our close-knit groups, in sports and within the school playground."
